Holy Fire Healing Brew

reduce inflammation, healing, turmeric, herbs

For those of you who have aches and pain and inflammation in the body, check this out!

I did this recipe initially to help my voice for singing during recording sessions, but I felt so energized and PAIN FREE I kept drinking it!

Ginger and turmeric are powerful healing herbs. Turmeric is said to be able to shrink cancer tumors and reduce inflammation in the body, which is the cause of pain.

I made a bunch in the mornings and would sip on it all day long.

If you like things a little spicy, this tea tastes AMAZING.

I boiled fresh chopped turmeric and ginger (about 1/4 c of each) in about 6 cups water with a pinch of pepper. Just a tiny pinch! You don’t need much. The pepper activates the turmeric so your body can absorb the medicine.

I then took a cinnamon stick and I used it like a wand, stirring the concoction in a clockwise motion before tossing it in, too. As I did this, I became aware of the plant medicine awakening…

I sang to the brew, infusing it with my magical intentions until it reached a rolling boil. You can also do this by holding your hands over the brew while it cooks and sending your intentions through the palms of your hands.

Some individuals prefer to pray over each herb prior to adding them to the pot. Every way works, I have discovered. Let your intuition guide you as you create your magical medicine.

After boiling for a few minutes, I poured the brew (using a strainer) into my favorite tea cup, then added freshly squeezed lemon juice (1/4 lemon per cup) and raw honey. (Note that the longer you boil the herbs, the more medicine you will extract from them.)

I held the cup of deliciousness in my hands and blew on it, cooling it and blessing it once again with my breath, feeling grateful for the wise medicine of these wonderful plant teachers.

Working with the energies of fire and water, I restore balance to opposing forces, within and without.

This recipe can be used to help reduce inflammation in the body, as a pain reliever and for healing. I make enough in a single batch to drink throughout the day. Drink hot or cold.

It is a delicious spicy pick-me-up that is perfect for the fall season!

(However, if you are on blood thinners or chemotherapy, please check with your doctor before consuming.)

Blessed Be!
